The 9th Militia Fleet was a group of Frontier Militia ships sent to investigate the planet Typhon. It is known to have included the MCS James MacAllan and the MCS Carter Braxton (which was destroyed during the chase for the Ark) along with a number of other ships.

Typhon

When approaching the planet, the fleet encountered extremely heavy anti-orbital defences which decimated the ships. Pockets of survivors were able to band together and stand against the IMC; most notably Captain Cole and his squad along with Jack Cooper and BT-7274.

Contact with either the remainder of the 9th Militia Fleet or another battlegroup altogether was eventually re-established .
