The SA-3 Mozambique Shotgun, or simply the Mozambique, is a Pilot anti-personnel, triple-barreled shotgun pistol that appears in Titanfall 2 and Apex Legends. Like the B3 Wingman Elite, it can be equipped as a primary weapon as opposed to the secondary slot of all other sidearms in the game.
Prior to the release of the Tricks and Treats update, the Mozambique operated substantially differently to its' current incarnation; it could only be equipped in the secondary slot, was constrained to a magazine size of four shots and was only capable of semi-automatic fire.
History[]
Design and performance[]
The Mozambique makes for a reliable weapon, however its usefulness is somewhat hindered by its projectile travel time. Its operation and projectile indicate it operates on the same basis as the Mastiff shotgun.
The Mozambique is capable of fully automatic fire, like the EVA-8 Shotgun.

Apex Legends[]
“ | In the wake of the mass Frontier Migration into the Outlands, regional conflicts and land - grabs created a demand for inexpensive firearms. The Mozambique shotgun (named for an execution technique with a similar, triangular spread) served that function for Pilots in the Frontier and a new model was soon being mass-produced for civilian use. The result is a firearm with a small magazine and minimal stopping power - while useful for self - defense, a standard Mozambique will require modifications (or a lot of luck) to be useful in a real fight.

The SA-3 Mozambique returns in Apex Legends as a shotgun pistol that consumes Shotgun shells. It is similar to its predecessor, however the weapon can now be modified in firerate with a Shotgun Bolt. But, unlike its predecessor, it can no longer extend its mag size of 6.

Trivia[]
- The placement of the three barrels - in a triangle shape with two on the bottom and one on top - combined with the "Mozambique" name makes the gun as a whole a reference to the "Mozambique Drill," a firing technique that dictates placing two shots to the chest and a third to the head to instantly stop an attacker. This drill is anecdotally credited to Rhodesian mercenary Mike Rousseau, during the Mozambican War of Independence, who was the inspiration for the character of Kuben Blisk.
- The Triple Tap Callsign can be unlocked by playing with the Mozambique, and Triple Tap XL can be unlocked via Advocate Gift. The Mozambique For Life callsign can be bought in the Monarch's Reign pack.
- For the 2020 April Fools event in Apex Legends, the Mozambique was buffed with an increased magazine capacity that housed 9 shots (as opposed to the usual 3 shots).
